French teacher and pedagogue of artistic creativity
may we introduce
Muriel Stern – Montessori teacher for artistic creativity and development.
Muriel Stern is a thoroughbred artist who wants to bring her artistic diversity closer to children. In addition to subjects such as artistic design (drawing, painting, etc.) and works, Muriel, who grew up bilingual, also teaches French.
Muriel explains why Montessori pedagogy is so important to her and why she brings her experience and knowledge to the Montessori School Seetal:
Working in freedom and self-determination makes a significant contribution to the individual development of the child, increases curiosity and the joy of knowledge.
Mixed-age learning stimulates each other, teaches tolerance and helpfulness:
1st – 3rd graders would like to learn French like the older ones, listen along or ask for exercises; Older school children help the younger ones to work, deepen what they have learned and explain learning.I find the trilingual classes (High German/English/French) to be a great challenge and an enormous asset. I experience cooperation, exchange and development in a committed team, under the direction of Andrea Helfenstein, which is extremely beneficial for teachers and students.
French is the language of my heart and my passion is art. As an artist, I paint with oil and watercolor paints, take part in exhibitions and art & building competitions, develop color concepts for architecture, and have won prizes and grants.
We also asked Muriel what she was able to learn from the children:
The students teach me flexibility, empathy and self-reflection – to respond to individual ideas and needs, to constantly check and adapt my lessons.
Muriel has been at the Montessori School Seetal since 2020 and we are happy to have found a teacher in her who encourages the children’s imagination and leads the French lessons.
